FAQs (Frequently asked questions)

FAQ: Does Schrodinger software work with macOS 10.15 (Catalina)?

While Mac Operating System versions 10.12 - 10.14 are supported,  version 10.15 is not fully supported.  Schrodinger has developed a workaround, which requires launching GUIs from the command-line. Please see Instructions to Open Schrödinger Suite 2019-4 Graphical User Interfaces on MacOS 10.15 (Catalina).  (Login required to view instructions).  Desmond and Quantum Espresso are only supported on Linux.

FAQ: Has Stanford licensed all of Schrodinger's software?

No.  For example, we have not licensed FEP+ or WaterMap because they can only be purchased at commercial rates.  Please see a list of software we have licensed at the bottom of this page.

FAQ: Where can I obtain ligand databases for virtual screening?

The 2019 version of the MilliporeSigma's Aldrich Market Select database is available.  Instructions to get a copy from the Oak Storage Server.

FAQ: Does Schrödinger support GPGPU computation?

Several applications of the Schrödinger Suite can run on Nvidia GPUs on Linux platforms: Desmond MD, FEP+, WaterMap, GPU Shape, and AutoQSAR/DeepChem.
