Software Licensed by the Science Library: Access and Downloads

The Robin Li and Melissa Ma Science Library has purchased campus-wide site licenses for several products. Access to all of these products is limited to current Stanford students, faculty, and staff.

End Of Life Notices for ChemOffice Products

The publisher of ChemOffice+ Cloud (Chemdraw) and Signals Notebooks was acquired by Revvity.

Most users will not notice the brand switchover immediately, but there are a few things to be aware of:

  1. Anything branded Perkin-Elmer will be unavailable after March 25, 2024. Note that all support for these products will end March 1, 2025.

  1. Signals Notebook now has new URLs. Users should bookmark the new URLs. They are:

  1. Admins of Signals Notebook should review the update instructions.

  1. If you are using the Spotfire applications licensed in 2017, please see additional instructions for the continuation of integrated features.

  1. Signals Notebook Individual Edition is now in End-of-Life. If you are using the Individual Edition of Signals notebook, you need to begin backing up your data. You will lose access to Signals Notebook Individual accounts on March 1, 2025.

Product Agreements and Download Instructions

Access to ChemDraw software is limited to current students, faculty, and staff at Stanford.

ChemDraw is available on the cluster computers located in libraries, dorms, and the academic virtual desktop.


We have a campus-wide site license for ChemOffice+ Cloud that includes all current students, faculty, and staff at Stanford.  This agreement includes the desktop version of ChemOffice Professional (PC) and ChemDraw Professional (Mac) - note that not all features are available on iOS. Please check System Requirements and Technical Details for more information.  ChemDraw can be used for searching SciFinder and Reaxys.

Stanford's license agreement includes the Revvity Signals Notebook Individual Edition, a cloud-based electronic notebook and the Mnova ChemDraw Edition (Note: this is a "lite" version of the software.  Stanford Libraries recommends using the licensed full version of Mnova).

 

ChemOffice/ChemDraw Software

Step 1: Register an account

Go to the ChemDraw/ChemOffice Subscription Gallery Registration website to register for access to Stanford's subscription. When registering, please use your Stanford email address. Valid email addresses domains are the @stanford.edu and @slac.stanford.edu
 

Step 2: Activate your account and set your password by the email sent to you.

After registering, you must confirm the registration through email and also create a password. Use the Registration Recovery if you need a link to reset your password.

 

Step 3: Download the product. 

  • Log in to your account on the Revvity Download Center website.
  • Links for downloading the software are displayed on the home page or the List Downloads page.
  • To get an activation code (license key), click on List Entitlements located on the left side of the page.
  • Use the Product_Activation code listed for the ChemOffice+ Cloud Site Subscription entry.  This activation key works for both the Win and Mac platforms.

ChemDraw Cloud

Cloud-based software and supplier database on the web

ChemDraw Cloud (ChemDraw JS) and Signals Notebook is included in Stanford's license subscriptions; however, it requires a different registration process.  To use cloud-based services, please register for the PerkinElmer Cloud:

  1. Go to https://connect.revvitysignals.com/sitesubscription/
  2. Search for Stanford University.
  3. Click the second register button (Access PerkinElmer Cloud Applications).
  4. Enter/validate your email address.
  5. Click continue. [you are now logged into cloud applications under Stanford’s license]
  6. Scroll down to the application to activate it. Now, you will be able to access it with direct links.

Signals Notebook

PerkinElmer Signals Notebook Individual Edition, an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) that is a cloud-based application, is included in our campus-wide site license for ChemOffice Professional.  This means that students, faculty, and staff at Stanford are able to use the Signals Notebook without paying any fees.  Check out this Nature Article for more information about choosing and using an ELN.

To use cloud-based services, please register for the PerkinElmer Cloud:
