Stanford Archives Reference and Research Guide: Ordering archival collection materials
Ordering materials
The Stanford University Libraries Special Collections & University Archives department uses Aeon to manage paging requests. Researchers may order up to five containers at a time for review.
Materials are stored offsite, and take 48 business hours (M-F) to page to Green Library for your review in the Special Collections reading room:
Follow the steps below to order materials:
Create an Aeon account
-
Create a new account using your SUNetID or register as a guest user.
Order up to five containers per research appointment
-
Using Searchworks and the Online Archive of California, identify the collection and boxes (including series # or accession #) that you wish to review.
-
Click on the "Request Items" box towards the top of the Online Archive of California ringing aid page for the collection you wish to page from. Log in if needed.
-
Select the boxes you wish to review from the collection, keeping in mind that there may be multiple containers with the same box number, so ensuring you are selecting from the right series # or accession # may be critical.
