Instruction

We know map and GIS concepts can be intimidating, so the map and GIS staff have created several self-instruction StoryMaps that teach skills such as georeferencing maps, creating StoryMaps, and understanding spatial data and tools. Warning: once you start, you won't want to stop.

Workshops

The Stanford Geospatial Center (SGC) and David Rumsey Map Center (DRMC) offer workshops on navigating map and GIS resources, services, and tools. To receive information for these workshops (dates and registration), please subscribe to the following email list services:

Go to Stanford's mailman page and locate stanfordgis from the list of options. Click on this option to access the subscribe page. 

Along with receiving workshop information, this is also a great listserv for relevant internships and job opportunities!
