Library and Research Guide

Interdisciplinary Journals

Indo-Iranian Journal was founded by a group of Indologists in Leiden in 1957, though the idea has existed since 1952. Jan Willem de Jong and Franciscus Bernardus Jacobus Kuiper started publishing the journal to facilitate the publication of articles related to Indian studies, though its scope also included Iranian studies. As a rule, the published articles focus on Indo-Iranian linguistics and philology, and various studies dedicated to the study of the language and literature of Sanskrit and Avestan appear very frequently.
