Welcome to Stanford and the Stanford Libraries!  This guide is designed to help FLI students get started with the library and learn about the resources and services that they can use through the library.  A university library can seem a little overwhelming at first, but don't worry, we are here to help!

Stanford has 25 different branches and centers in its library system, covering all academic subjects.  As a student, you have extensive access to most of them and we can help you get any special access to their resources that you might need.

The largest library on campus and the one that most students use frequently is Green Library.  It is an ideal spot for you to find a group study space or quiet spot to read, work, and recharge. Green Library is also home to the Reference Desk, where you can speak with a librarian about finding resources or getting started on your research.

In person

As a Stanford student you have physical access to most of the libraries whenever they are open.  Simply come to the library with your SUNet ID and enter through the portal.  You may want to review the Conduct Policies first.

Some of the coordinate libraries have restricted access policies and it is best to check their websites before visiting. These are:

• Robert Crown Law Library
• Graduate School of Business Library
• Hoover Institute Library
• Lane Medical Library

Online

Access the libraries' online resources (e-resources) anytime via SearchWorks.  It can be used anywhere, anytime on any device with a browser. If you are accessing online sources from off-campus, you may need to take special steps for access.  If you have issues, please view the Off-Campus access page.
