General Library Guide for PWR1 Coursework: Connecting to resources

How to connect to online resources from off-campus

  • To access online materials through the SearchWorks catalog, you will need to log in to SearchWorks first. The login is at the top right corner of any SearchWorks page.

  • To access online materials through other site, install the Lean Library extension on your browser.
  • To use Google Scholar, input Stanford Libraries as one of your library links in the Google Scholar settings menu.
  • Detailed instructions can be found on the Connecting to e-resources page.

What if it is not available?

Some resources may be behind a paywall or otherwise inaccessible to you immediately. For many works, submitting an InterLibrary Loan request can get you access. If you have looked in the catalog and cannot find a record of the item, submitting an ILL is usually the best next step.

Don't be shy to use the REQUEST button in searchworks to let the library know you need something. Through our partnerships with other universities, another library can supply your request!

Other options for finding documents, such as a FOIA request, are also possible. If you need help with any of these, contact us!
