LexisNexis Web Services API: Overview
Overview
The LexisNexis Web Services API is a subscription-based service that allows researchers to programmatically access and text-mine Nexis Uni's News and Legal News collections. Please note that the API does not provide access to all Nexis Uni content, see Available Content for more details.
Using the API requires basic-to-intermediate fluency with programming languages (e.g., Python or R), and understanding how to work with JSON data.
Stanford has 2 (two) seats for the LexisNexis Web Services API. Each seat has an associated Client ID and Secret, which are used to generate an API access token. The Client ID and Secret can also be used to access the Web Services API User Interface (UI) which is instrumental in developing optimal search queries.
Stanford University students, faculty and staff are eligible to use the LexisNexis Web Services API.
Interested users must apply for access.
There is currently a significant waiting list. We will reach out to you once you are at the top of the queue.
