Historical Abstracts is a full-text database of scholarly journal articles on the history of the world (excluding the US and Canada). Provides selective indexing of historical articles from more than 1,800 journals in over 40 languages back to 1955 as well as the full text of more than 300 journals and over 130 books.
- MLA international bibliographyStart here if you're looking for secondary materials on literary topics. The MLA international bibliography is the largest bibliographical database of articles, book chapters, dissertations, conference proceedings focused on literature, linguistics, philology, cultural studies. International in scope.
- Torrossa Casalini full text platformLargest digital library of current Italian scholarship in the humanities and social sciences - full text searchable, includes books, journals, and conference proceedings.
Starting out - ebooks
- Hathi TrustDigital repository and access platform created from contributions of large academic libraries, allowing full-text searching of the entire corpus. It currently provides full-text access to materials in the public domain only. Login as Stanford.
- Torrossa Casalini full text platformTorrossa is your best bet for Italian language scholarly ebooks. Use the database to do keyword searching across the Torrossa digital library.
- Oxford scholarship onlineCross-searchable library containing the full text and abstracts of classic and newly published Oxford University Press books.
- Cambridge coreMultidisciplinary collection of ebooks published by Cambridge University Press.
- Cambridge histories onlineIncluding New Cambridge Modern European History, Cambridge Economic History of Europe. You can download individual chapters as PDF's.
