Library Treasure Hunt 2024: Overview and Rules

Explore Stanford University Libraries. Find unique items and spaces, engage with staff and collections, and enter to win prizes. Participation earns entries into prize raffles and giveaways!

Embark on a quest across campus and discover the amazing resources our libraries and research centers have to offer!

To join the hunt, choose a library from the list (scroll to the bottom of the page on mobile), plan your visit, and submit answers to the the hunt's questions, riddles, and puzzles.

For each response you provide, you'll be entered into Library Swag Raffles and earn points for each towards the Grand Prizes.  Note, you must complete at least 1 full branch page to be eligible for Grand Prizes.

Conquering each Branch Library for 10 points towards the Grand Prizes: $50, $20, and $10 Campus Bookstore gift cards!

Game Rules

The Treasure Hunt will run from September 16th through October 4th.

You may continue to play the game, but prizes will not be awarded to late submissions.

 

Rules

  • Submissions before 5pm on October 4th will be counted.
  • You may work as a team, but individuals must provide unique submissions. Please do not openly share your answers.
  • Submit responses using the Branch Links with your Stanford email address one time.  Multiple submissions for a branch link will not be accepted.
  • Correct completion of each item earns you a Swag Raffle entry and ONE point towards the Grand Prizes. Completion of multiple items earns you multiple entries and points.
  • Completion of an entire branch enters your name into the Grand Prize Running. Each completed branch earns you TEN additional points towards the Grand Prize. Correct completion of multiple branches and all of their puzzles maximizes your score towards the Grand Prizes.
  • Winners will be contacted via email to pick up their prize from the Li & Ma Science Library in October.
  • Please note that to protect our patrons' privacy and ensure their quiet enjoyment of our library spaces, photography and videorecording is prohibited within library buildings without the express written permission of the University Librarian.
